The Children’s Festival is moving to

The sizzling summer heat has taken its toll on all of us. The Troll’s Booth felt like a sauna inside, and our knight nearly evaporated inside his shining armor. The mermaid had to get out of the creek when the water started to boil, and the pirates were using their cannons to bake pizza (peppARRRoni of course).

Ok, maybe we’re exaggerating a little, but you get the idea. We’ve decided to move the Children’s Festival to early autumn, when the weather in Nevada County can usually be counted upon to be delightful. Pioneer Park will once again be transformed into a Renaissance wonderland with arts and crafts, entertainment, and activities for kids of all ages. For a sweet reminder of what the Children’s Festival is all about, take a look at these photos from prior years: https://thechildrensfestival.com/photos/

We Need Your Help!

It takes more than 200 volunteers to make The Children’s Festival a reality. There are many ways you can get involved:

  • We’ll begin workshops in the Spring, where we’ll prepare the craft projects for our young artists.
  • We’ll have two shifts of volunteers on the day of the Festival: 10am-1pm and 2-5pm.
  • We’ll also need help setting up Pioneer Park before the Festival and loading supplies onto our trailer afterwards.

If you can spare a few hours to help out, it would be greatly appreciated and you’re sure to have fun too!  If there’s a particular craft or activity you’d like to do or if there’s someone you’d like to work with we’d be happy to arrange that!
